LENEXA, Kan., May 25, 2016 – Mediware Information Systems, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Bowman Systems, LLC, a provider of software solutions for human services. More than 30,000 people across 48 states and one Canadian province use Bowman Solutions software for housing related programs, information and referral services and rescue missions. The company’s flagship product is the most widely deployed software for homeless assistance programs in the United States, supplying software solutions to approximately 60% of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) communities.
Mediware acquired Bowman Systems to increase the breadth of its product offerings for human and social services programs. “Bowman Systems’ strength in homeless management information systems is a great complement to our existing offerings in behavioral health and long-term services and supports. The combined companies will support the growing trend for coordinating services across state and local agencies,” said Thomas Mann, Mediware’s president and CEO.
Mediware is also looking forward to expanding upon the success Bowman Systems has already achieved. “We are excited about the value Bowman Systems provides to the many provider organizations that serve the homeless and other consumers needing a wide array of human services. As the requirement to provide a broad set of services in community settings grows, Mediware is better equipped to meet that need with the addition of Bowman Systems,” stated Mann. “We will continue to expand our expertise and software offerings in both post-acute care and human and social services,” continued Mann.
Founded in 1999, the Bowman Systems team develops software solutions for human services. The Bowman Systems’ products have been extremely successful at addressing the needs of both public and private organizations who serve the homeless population and other at-risk consumers who need supportive services. “Our relentless focus on meeting the needs of our customers has led to widespread adoption of our products,” said Robert Bowman, chief executive officer. “We are excited to align ourselves with the other Mediware solutions that support a larger set of home and community-based services across the United States,” added Bowman.
Since 1980, Mediware has provided software solutions to healthcare providers and has since expanded to serve many state and federal agencies. Mediware’s solutions are perfect for high-growth, complex patient care environments that remain underserved by existing vendors. The company employs more than 600 subject matter experts who deeply understand business and care processes in highly specialized acute, non-acute and community-based care settings and have years of experience integrating systems. Mediware’s portfolio of solutions currently includes long-term services and supports, behavioral health, blood solutions, cellular therapy, home care, medication management, rehabilitation and respiratory therapy.
